October 30, 2008:  Retro poetry!  Not quite though... I See Today from my older website has been reloaded with very minor tweaking in this one.  Please see WRITING.

August 31, 2008:  Chapter 43 uploaded in Arrowhead.  And an old poem I had originally hated, but realized recently that I liked it has been reposted in WRITING.

March 2, 2008:  ACK!  Arrowhead updated with two chapters, a map, and a forum!!!

January 11, 2008: Holy other hiatus!!  Nope, not Arrowhead, sorry!  An old poem, The Painter, previously posted in my former site has been revised and reposted in WRITING.  I hope to do more of those soon!

July 24, 2007:  Holy hiatus!!!  No, this isn't an Arrowhead update, but a new poem: Flower Girl in the WRITING section.

October 17, 2006:  Arrowhead's Chapter 40 uploaded!

September 20, 2006:  Greetings!  Expect a major shift in dynamics from this site.  FRIENDS and GALLERY may be coming down soon... making way for a whole new online story while still working on Arrowhead.  This story will feature people, which should draw in some Cheryl fans.

August 26, 2006:  "Markliam" page updated!

August 13, 2006:  Chainless (writing page); this is why God invented poetry.  Good for a rant.

August 1, 2006:  I think more than enough time has passed since I had made the first Arrowhead page.  I think I should redo the format a little.

July 28, 2006:  Within the next three weekends will be a chapter update of Arrowhead.  It would be sooner, but I'm currently enjoying two full time jobs.  I work with my prof in her native studies department at St. Thomas University.  I also work for the Passamaquoddy Nation in New Brunswick to help them make a case to the federal government in an effort to gain status as a First Nation.  I met the chief, Hugh, and I hereby decree that he is the nicest person I have ever met.  He reminds me of Ben Kingsley's Gandhi.  He is so selfless, it's amazing.  I personally feel so selfish next to this guy.  His manners and conversational style are humbling.  I'm going to take every effort to do an amazing job for these people.

Notice a top 30 thing going?  lol.  My goal is to update everyday to keep this site active.  Think I can do it?  Probably not as I might not be near the internets for a few days coming soon, but if that happens, I'll add an album for everyday I missed at once.

April 7, 2006:  *whew*  The madness that is university is almost over for another year.  But I'm enjoying it so much.  Summer in NB is soon!  Ketu aji etkisemin?  So PICS of the Week hasn't been updated in two weeks... I'll work on that soon.  And maybe I'll slip in an Arrowhead chapter for cool effect.  But how do you get the loyal readers back?  I'll have to add some plot twists... I'll make Kaelin pregnant!!

In other news, I submitted five of my poems to St. Thomas University's poetry contest.  After painfully rereading a lot of crap, I decided on Rain Girl which was retitled Rain Night, The Hunter's Pillow, The Echo in My Time, Seven Days Away, and finally everyone's favourite gory poem, Emblems.  First prize is $100, which would be useful in apartment searches.  There are no other prizes, so *gasp*, I'm either in or out.  So yeah, my slowly updated site should be updated soon.

March 8, 2006:  Pics of the week have been added to the GALLERY page.  Hopefully it will be updated weekly (Wednesdays).  =P

January 29, 2006: After an eight month hiatus, Arrowhead has been updated with a very short chapter 37.

January 3, 2006!

Hi everyone!  Its time for the Markliam update.  I think the main question everyone is asking is, why attempt to switch website addresses and NOT update?  Are you a dork?

The answer is, yes I am a dork.  But that's not the reason why I changed addresses.  I went back to university!  This time I'm in St. Thomas, an amazing school in Fredericton, New Brunswick.  I feel like I really belong here, so I took it upon myself to participate fully in the St. Thommy experience.  I contribute quite a bit to the native studies department, where I am currently doing half of a double major in, I am a member of the CCSA, which is nothing but a positive influence on me, I do odd jobs here and there, I used to fence, but had to quit very recently because my class times were conflicting with classes (I shall be back at that next year!), and St. Thommy accepted me as a third year student.  So in effect, I have to do two majors in two years.  eep.  I'm already in an amazing fourth year course on a project in First Nations history, which in itself takes up a lot of time, but wow... I'm really enjoying it and *most* of my classes here.  And talk about a spike in my grade average!  During all of this, I find myself very happy with my life.  I had no idea... well I did, but I didn't want to take it seriously because it might not be true, but New Brunswick is definately my home.  Goodbye Ontario!  (no offence to any Ontarians).

So ALL my pages are slow in development... for now!  We all know school comes first.  I will attempt to keep the friends' page up to date, since it is simpler to do.  I'm in the process of transfering poems and stories I had from my own page over here, but don't expect them done in a hurry.  Arrohead is sadly not being updated at current time.  This saddens me, since I miss writing it... and I'm so close to ending it too!  My last chapter was last April.  This is the longest hiatus I've ever had with a story.  I promise to get back to it, I do!  But I need to find the time to do it.  I'm currently working on another writing project, which, on occasion, I try out plots and characters to Derek.  Cat and Sonja might remember "Bac", if not... well then good.  =)  There's been some major changes anyway.

My guestbook is still up and running, of course, and still supplied by bravenet.  I'm considering a switch to something my web hoster person ... I'm considering a switch to something Chris suggested.  lol.  Chris by the way, has his own web host company (is that what you call them?).  When I make my links, you'll find his at the top, because he's that uber.  Friends stories/poems may or may not be transfered here from geocities.  I haven't decided yet.  No worries though!  Geocities will remain for as long as I can make it possible.  I still managed to get three hits last week even though I haven't updated in almost a year.  And then there's my bio, which technically is done, but might be too .. blunt.  There may be a more reader friendly one later on.  And finally, the gallery will be added on the fly someday.

Stay tuned and thanks for viewing!

Mark!
